Fortunately, a girl
born in King Bhyupal Thakur's home. She was beautiful like the shining sunrise,
like the cucumber's branch, like the sliced piece of Turmeric, like the full moon, more beautiful
than the angel, like the full moon.
After looking at their
daughter's face, both King and the Queen forgot the promise given to the King
Jay Bam. They forgot their words."Words spoken with feelings don't erase
ever." That's why bad days came to Purchudin and all went in grief.
King Jay Bam died
leaving behind his eight years old son 'Sameer' alone. That was the time of
Sati Pratha but her son Sameer was still very young and adorable. Sameer's mother, the
queen had no idea what to do. She only knew how miserable the situation was for her.(Sati Pratha is obsolete Hindu funeral custom where a
widow immolates herself on her husband's pyre or commits suicide in
another fashion shortly after her husband's death)
Queen thought,
"His uncle and aunt will be the King and the Queen after her death and
they will treat my son as a slave." After thinking a lot, she called one
of her trusty 'Kaliya' and gave him some money and clothes to hide.
"When Sameer will
be a grown man, give him this key." Queen left key to Kaliya and became
ready to follow sati Pratha.
Both King Jay Bam and
the Queen died at the same same day. Sameer's uncle and aunt became new King and Queen.
After that worst days came in
Sameer's life.
Sameer got uncooked
bread to eat and a small plastic bag to sleep. King jay Bam's son became the
person who feed the animals (a cowboy). Grief added within grief, Tiger gave
trouble. Tiger ate calf and Sameer came home crying over crying.
His uncle and aunt
beat him a lot and also hit him with leg. He was tightened around a big
tree with a rope and beat him with Paani-Sisno (Sisno is a small plant with
multiple poisonous thorns which when put in water and then applied to human
skin cause severe pain or blisters). They beat him until they got tired and
finally tighten his both legs with rope and dangled him with his legs towards
roof and head swinging freely.
The anger and hurt of
the heart of his uncle didn't fade away and hence his uncle threw him out of his
home. "During happiness all are our own people but during sorrow nobody is our
own." Sameer became homeless boy and he neither called by anyone nor he went to
anybody.
A
10 year old little boy (without father and mother) kept crying and
kept walking. There was nobody to show him the way and no one of his own
left to help. He reached to Jamuna thali, a place far away from his home and saw
few cowboys around him. He reached there crying over crying and sat
quickly.
In between the cowboys
he saw a beautiful girl like the moon of the Full Moon day. She was the
daughter of King Bhyupal Thakur 'Saru'. Saru started asking, "Who are you?
Where are you from? Where are you going? If you are hungry then let me know
what'd you like to eat?"
Sameer cried and said,
"I have no one of my own, neither father nor mother. I am all alone. Time
has brought only the sorrow and pain to me. I walked home to home to find out
some job. My bad luck, nobody believes on me."
Saru's eyes filled
with tears and she cried too after hearing sameer's painful words. At the end
of the day (sunset time), the cowboys went their home. Sameer
followed Saru's footsteps.
